Signals

I was playing with a new client some years ago. I asked about her signals, and the conversation ran:

• Her: A low card is encouraging.
• Him: Ok. So a high card is discouraging?
• Her: No, a high card is encouraging.
• Him: Ok... How do I discourage then?
• Her: You play the six.
• Him: What if I don't have the six?
• Her: You always have the six.

Which pretty much ended the conversation.
